I called two local locksmiths and they do not do BMW bmd. I kfy a Schwaben. Foxwell scan tool from ECS that claims it can program keys. It is only a claim, it cannot program any keys.

I was wondering if anyone found a way to do it. Mashman said he got it to work with a FVDI tool, but now it gets confusing. Do any of these things actually work? They sell a bunch of these tools on obdtool. Anybody have a good solution? It is possible to program aftermarket keys.

• Getting a new set of keys for your BMW used to be pretty simple. Modern remote keys have plenty of security benefits and make it easy to get into your car and hit the road — particularly if your BMW or MINI has the Comfort Access feature. But for all this convenience, they can be a real pain to get copies of.

• Turn ignition to position 1 and back to off within 5 seconds. Doors will lock and unlock to show correct programming has occurred. To do this procedure you need to have one working key and one key that needs to be programmed.

• You can try one of two sets of instructions and see if they work for your BMW. Put the key in the ignition cylinder and turn it on and off five times. The alarm should chirp a confirmation.
